If anywhere in America needs a bold new direction, it's Toledo, Ohio. As job losses mount, the foreclosure crisis grows, and residents leave the city in search of economic opportunity elsewhere, the need for change is crystal clear. But if I've learned one thing since being elected Commissioner in 2006, it's that the forces of status quo aren't moved easily. The good 'ole boys network, with its circle the wagons mentality and resistance to change, is alive and well in our city's backrooms and boardrooms.

That's why I'm starting this grassroots, community based movement. The time is now Toledo, to say enough is enough to the failed politics of the past. Now is the time to take control of our town's destiny and reverse the stagnation of the past decades. But change is only going to happen if it comes from you. We can't count on entrenched politicians to make it happen. So take a minute to sign up and help form a grassroots network that together can lead our community in a new direction.
